CO₂ Footprint Management

Sustainable Climate Actions

Our consultancy services in Sustainable Climate Action and Development accompany the complete cycle of design and execution of sustainability policies, programs, and actions, from origination and financing to ex-post evaluation of impacts.

1. Resource Mobilization for Climate Finance

We work with development agencies, financial institutions, and NGOs supporting them to access resources from the Global Environment Facility, Adaptation Fund, Green Climate Fund, and other donation funds. We conduct baseline studies, build scenarios, and develop intervention strategies for the climate finance components.
2. Monitoring, Verification, and Reporting

We work together with our clients to implement systems that allow the monitoring of the results and impacts of development projects, meeting international standards (Theory of Change, Problem Tree, among others).
3. Mitigation of CO₂ Footprint of Projects

We work with our clients to calculate and mitigate the carbon footprint adding value to project performance.

Certification of Carbon Neutral Tourism Destinations

In 2014, the Brazilian Institute of Tourism Marketing (MERCOTUR) joined the Green Initiative transferring more than 15 years of expertise in different areas of tourism destination development, with a track record of clients that includes organizations such as SENAC-Brasil, SNV (Dutch cooperation), International Labor Organization, UNESCO, the Hospitality Institute and tourist destinations such as Machupicchu (Peru), Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) and Inhambane (Mozambique).

We train and advise public and private agents to start collaborative processes that promote green investments for tourism destination’s sustainable development.
2. Planning and Marketing of Tourist Destinations

We carry out economic and market studies to promote tourism destinations’ strategic positioning and develop sustainable climate neutral tourism products and services.
3. Employability

We carry out diagnoses that allow identifying employment and business opportunities for young people and women under a value chain approach and based on the demand for tourist services in the destination.
4. Capacity Building

We have methodologies that allow high-impact training aimed at young people, women, and vulnerable populations in the tourism sector under a competency development approach.
