Between 2017 and 2020, Green Initiative Verde worked with producers and exporters of fine and aroma cocoa in one of the regions with the highest concentration of biodiversity on the planet, the province of San Martín – Peru.

We work with 10 cooperatives of cocoa producers to calculate their carbon footprint and introduce better management practices, avoiding and mitigating more than 14 thousand tons of carbon emissions in the atmosphere.

In this way, they are prepared to comply with the European Union’s highest climatic standards, improving their position as suppliers of climate-friendly and biodiversity-friendly cocoa.
