The Caribbean Regional Fisheries Mechanism will host two in-person offsite seminars on the sidelines of the 4th International Conference on Small Island Developing States, to be convened under the theme: Charting the Course Toward Resilient Prosperity, in Antigua and Barbuda on 27-30 May 2024. These events are being held in partnership with the Office of the Prime Minister, Government of Antigua and Barbuda, the CARICOM Secretariat, the National Fisheries Authority (Jamaica), and Green Initiative.

Seminar Topics:

  1. Revitalizing SIDS Economies & Food and Nutrition Security through the Sustainable Use of our Living Marine Resources (see detailed info. here)
  2. Accelerating the Decarbonization of Fisheries in the Caribbean: from science-based targets to climate mitigation finance (see detailed info. here)

These seminars will delve into critical issues facing Small Island Developing States (SIDS) regarding marine resource management and climate resilience.
